I’ve seen a lot of Greece. But 23 years ago, as I drove from the charming fishing village of Finikounda , the road curved along the coast… and then, there it was.

Methoni. Tranquil, bathed in that endless Greek-blue of sea and sky , white houses glowing in the sun, and the proud silhouette of a Venetian castle  rising from the water. In that moment, I knew: I had fallen in love.

Days here flow gently: breakfast under the morning sun , wandering the cobbled streets, pausing to watch fishing boats sway in the small harbor .
