Holiday in Methoni with Athens and Nafplion
The perfect combo trip to the Greece we really know
3 nights Athens · 7 nights Methoni · 2 nights Nafplion
Also in reverse order · optionally extendable with 3 nights Hydra
Athens, Nafplion, and Methoni. Three totally different places that together form the perfect Greece combination for us.
Vibrant Athens, where old and new Greece live side by side. Elegant Nafplion, with its Venetian traces and the nearby wine regions of Nemea and Mantinia. And a whole week in Methoni, in the tranquil south of the Peloponnese, with the sea, Wine & Food, and the Costa Navarino within easy reach.
City and beach. Culture and history. Wine & Food. Golf. And above all, enough time to simply enjoy a holiday.
This is the Greece we really know – and would love to show you.
🧿 Athens – especially in the summer
Athens never gets boring. And yes, we find it a wonderful city in July and August too. Many Athenians are on vacation themselves, and the city can actually be surprisingly quiet in the summer.
Of course, you don't have to walk for hours in the heat in the middle of the day. Go by bike in the morning, take a gourmet walk past markets and unique spots, or attend a Greek cooking workshop.
Later in the day? Then the Athenian Riviera beckons. The sea, beaches, good restaurants, and beautiful beach clubs are surprisingly close to the city.
And the Acropolis? Consider reserving one of the last visiting times of the day. When the light softens, the heat slowly dissipates, and Athens lies beneath you...
Insane.
Moreover, Athens has a major advantage: there are numerous flights from almost all major European cities. Due to the wide choice of airlines, departure days, and times, very attractive airfares can regularly be found.

🧿 A whole week of Methoni
You stay seven nights in Methoni. Here you unpack your suitcase and don't have to do anything at all for a while.
You will stay at Hotel La Sapienza, one of our favorite addresses in Messinia, with breakfast, a swimming pool, and a rental car.
From Methoni, you can discover Pylos, Gialova, Voidokilia, Finikounda, and Koroni. Visit Nestor's Palace, taste olive oil at a local producer, go to a winery, or take a boat trip towards Sapienza.
And of course, there is Costa Navarino. If you enjoy golfing, you will find four beautiful international 18-hole golf courses here. We can reserve your tee times for you and, naturally, fully customize the trip if golf is important to you.
But a week of Methoni means above all that not every day has to be packed.
Methoni is quiet and authentic, with that little touch of sophistication. Just right.
🧿 Nafplion – elegant, Venetian and deliciously Greek
And then Nafplion.
What should we really say about Nafplion? It is simply beautiful.
Nafplion was the first capital of modern Greece and is elegant and atmospheric, with neoclassical houses, beautiful squares, small streets, and the sea always close by.
And of course, there are the Venetian traces. Palamidi high above the city, Bourtzi in the middle of the water, and a history that is still palpable everywhere here.
But Nafplion holds another attraction for us: Wine & Food.
The wine regions of Nemea and Mantinia are located nearby. Nemea is known for Agiorgitiko and Mantinia for the aromatic Moschofilero. We would be happy to organize a visit to a winery, a wonderful tasting, or a special lunch.
And would you like to get started yourself? Then we would be happy to arrange a Greek cooking workshop.
For you can look at a country. But sometimes you only truly get to know it when you taste it.

🧿 And maybe Hydra...
Do you have a little more time? Then we have a very special add-on: three nights on Hydra.
Hydra is elegant, exclusive, and unique. An island without cars, with a stunning harbor, stately stone mansions, small streets, good restaurants, and the kind of terraces where you actually stay much longer than planned.
The island has held an almost VIP-like appeal for years. Artists, writers, international visitors, and famous guests enjoy coming here, yet Hydra has simultaneously managed to retain its own Greek character. No large resorts and no cars – but water taxis, small boats, and donkeys.
And that is why we choose three nights. Not just dropping in, taking a stroll through the harbor, and heading back. It is precisely when the day-trippers leave that Hydra becomes even more beautiful. Then you have time to swim, take a water taxi to a bay, have a leisurely lunch, and stroll along the harbor in the evening.
A bit chic? Certainly. Unique? Absolutely.
Hydra is completely optional. The trip is already complete without Hydra.
But if you want to treat yourself to something extra, we would know exactly what to do.
Your trip
Our basic combination is:
🧿3 nights Athens · 7 nights Methoni · 2 nights Nafplion
Or in reverse order:
🧿2 nights Nafplion · 7 nights Methoni · 3 nights Athens
Those who wish to travel longer can add 3 nights in Hydra.
Around that, we can organize exactly the things you enjoy: a bike tour or gourmet walk in Athens, a cooking workshop, a visit to a winery in Nemea or Mantinia, golf at Costa Navarino , an olive oil tasting at Metehoni (great fun), or simply a few days with absolutely nothing planned. You don't have to do everything. After all, it has to remain a holiday.
The Greece that we really know – and would love to show you.
