What does Greece look like in your imagination?

That wonderful Mamma Mia feeling? White-and-blue houses, a sea that really couldn’t get much bluer, a long table under the olive trees, Greek food, music and – oh, go on then – a little ABBA.

Fine.

We can do that.

And along the way, we’ll show you a little of the real Greece too. Because that’s at least as much fun.

 

Perhaps we’ll end up in Nemea. Tasting Agiorgitiko at one of the coolest wineries in the region, and a little later visiting a small wine producer where grandad still drives his tractor through the vineyards.

Then comes one of those long Greek lunches. Fifteen different dishes somehow appear on the table. The wine comes in carafes. Another plate arrives. The music gets louder and before you know it, you’re dancing the sirtaki and the plates are flying.

A little cliché? Maybe. Fun? Absolutely.

​

But your group trip can, of course, look completely different.

Athens, with fantastic restaurants and rooftop bars, followed by a ferry to car-free Hydra. Across the Peloponnese with friends. Fly straight to Kalamata for Messinia, Pylos and Methoni. Golf at Costa Navarino. Discover Zakynthos and realise there’s a lot more to the island than beach parties. Or Kefalonia, with what might just be the bluest water in Greece.

Friends, family, a club, colleagues or clients. An anniversary, an incentive, a study trip or a complete programme for a tour operator.

Five people or a hundred.

Most importantly, it should be a really great trip.

🧿 It often starts with: “We have an idea…”

And honestly, that’s enough.

“Our company is celebrating its 25th anniversary and we want to take everyone to Greece.”

“There are 14 of us. We’re friends. And we do rather like good food and good wine.”

Or simply:

“We want to do something special. Any ideas?”

Oh yes.

Then we start putting the pieces together. Where should you go? Which hotel? Where are we going to eat really well? What absolutely has to be included – and what definitely doesn’t?

A beautiful hotel in completely the wrong place? No. Four visits in one day? Also no. A three-hour lunch by the sea? Now we’re talking.

🧿 Athens, Hydra, Messinia… or perhaps an island?

Athens is around three and a half hours from Amsterdam. A few days in the city followed by a ferry to car-free Hydra? Lovely.

​

Or fly straight to Kalamata and head into Messinia. Pylos, Methoni, Costa Navarino, wine, olive oil and the sea.

Add Nafplio and Nemea? Gladly.

​

Zakynthos? So much more than beach parties.

Kefalonia? We’d go for that blue water alone.

And that old image of Greece with terrible roads? You can forget about that. Greece now has an excellent modern motorway network.

Private transport, drivers and luxury minivans? All easily arranged.
